On Friday 20th of June we are going again to Jökulsárgljúfur, because we did not go to Selfoss yesterday. This time we are going to try western road. Then we are going (again :-) ) to geothermal fields of Námafjall. This time with cameras.

Then we are going to check out surroundings of Mývatn (depends on weather), go to Goðafoss and finally to reach Akureyri.

To Akureyri

We left Mývatn and bad weather behind us. Expected nice place - Goðafoss is ahead of us. Unexpected nice place - Akureyri is ahead too.

Goðafoss

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. I do not know if nice weather played important role in this discovery, but we liked Goðafoss a lot. We checked it out from both sides, thanks that we got to right bank first and a bridge was not far away.

Akureyri

We liked Akureyri a lot. It cannot be compared with Reykjavik at all. Small, colorful, mountains are close. We went to nice dinner to very nice restaurant Bautinn and that helped a lot too ;-)

Akureyri is on the other shore of Eyja Fjörður.

Less than impressive architecture first.
