Saturday 19th of July we woke up to weather as was forecasted even I refused to believe it will be cloudy previous day. Well, it was. End of blue sky and good photos...

Some waterfalls are planned for this day, 2 national parks, old wooden churches, we will go through interesting tunnels and there are some alternatives. It depends on time, but we have no illusions that this time we could progress faster :-) And of course - cherries has been added unexpectedly to our daily menu yesterday.

We need to get to Bøverdalen in the evening.

Road to Jotunheimen

The first variability in our plan was in following section of this day. According to our plan if we arrived to Gudvangen before 12pm and weather was nice we planned to take ferry through Nærøyfjorden that is the narrowest fjord with huge mountains around it. If we did next plan was not clear, because it would took us about 3 hours.

Weather was terrible and we did not catch ferry, thus we continued according to original plan.

Short stop for geocaching

Peter is active geocacher and he was prepared for this trip. So we stopped a few kilometres from Tvindefoss. It was nice place with strong stream and small waterfall.

Undredal

Undredal was small mistake. Not because it was not planned (we are agile!), but because we decided to divert after seeing sign for church. Knowing that Norway is full of beautiful stave churches we drove 6km somewhere. Church was not very impressive, but surrounding was! So I am happy with our decision.

Aurland

Only short stop here. After leaving Aurland we got into rather long tunnel in the world - 24.5km. It took only 5 years to build. Unlike tunnels in Slovakia :-(

Borgund

Lying at historic route (we had no time to follow :-( ) is beautiful stave church. Somehow we refused to pay entrance fee to museum and church, resulting in taking pictures from distance.
