Finally I am able to publish about the 5th day in Iceland. Actually, photos were ready before our Norway trip, but I did not have time to select them.

Wednesday 18th of June is even better weather than last day. It is sunny, but with much better visibility. Our planned mileage is smaller today, but there is paid attraction with possibility of many people in queue.

More photos from Skaftafell

These photos are from southern part of Skaftafell, all taken from Ring Road. Mountains were so beautiful it was impossible to keep driving without stop.

Icecap is Vatnajökull.

Jökulsárlón

We looked forward for Jökulsárlón for several months. Since beginning we knew we need to absolve boat trip. It is not cheap, but where else to see something similar?

It is lagoon created from melting glacier. Icebergs are slowly floating in the lagoon and eventually reach ocean. Lagoon never freezes (unless director of James Bond movies decides otherwise :-) ) because it contains salty water.

Source of floating icebergs is that glacier.

Not all pieces of ice are white and opaque. There are also nice transparent ones.

Reynivellir and Steinafjall

Only a few kilometers from Jökulsárlón is nice place with village Reynivellir below mountain Steinafjall. It is beautiful place but I don't have more information about it.
