It is long time since I blogged last. I have plenty of photos, but somehow I did not get to writing about them here.

These photos are from company event I have attended 2 years ago. We went to north of Slovakia, to Liptov. I know it well there, because I spent every summer there when I was kid. Still, we visited a few places I have never been before.

Nature

It was early autumn and nature started to change to nice colors. Both landscapes are near Ružomberok.

We planned to do some hiking in nearby mountain range Nízke Tatry (Low Tatras). But when we got there, we realized weather turned bad, mountains were in clouds and probably raining up there. We changed our plan and just made short walk to and around small glacier lake Vrbické Pleso.

Following 2 photos probably don't look like that, but they are HDRs.

We returned back to valley and we were happy the weather is pretty nice again. So we made a stop at Liptovská Mara - water reservoir.

This is the tower of former church in village Liptovská Mara. This village, giving the name to reservoir, and a 8 other villages were flooded when water reservoir was built.

Can you spot the tower of church at the opposite side?

This waterfall is literally part of village Lúčky, it's name is Lúčanský vodopád. What I would pay for such a view from my bedroom window :-)

Architecture of the past

There is another church that was preserved from flooded area of Liptovská Mara.

Following wooden church originally located in village Paludza has been taken apart and reassembled in village Svätý Kríž.

This place brings me many childhood memories, because we went to forest behind it to play, rest, pick blueberries and mushrooms many times during my summer vacations.

Following sequense of photos is from Vlkolínec. It is open air museum, listed in the World's Heritage of UNESCO. Big difference from other open air museums in Slovakia is that people still live there.

I knew about this place, but never been there until during this company event. It is much nicer, than I thought, so I will show more photos.

We did not head directly to home after the event ended. We went to Lúčanský vodopád (its photo has been shown above) and then to nearby ruins of castle Hrad Likava.

It is about 1 hour roundtrip hike up there from village Likava. We were lucky - it was last weekend before closing it for winter and we got discount :-) (our luck was that we did not arrive one week later, of course).
