Seychelles - arrival to La Digue

Regardless, 2nd o May, day we arrived was cloudy and windy. That is not big deal when you are at island, but it makes big difference for travelers on ferry. It was not just rocking, it was really jumping. Most of people got sick, including us.
Following photos are from proximity of port, but taken couple of days later.

Accommodation
La Digue is rather small island. Everything is in walking distance, if you don't mind walking. There are no buses, just a few taxis. Plus you can rent a taxi.
But it would be painful to walk with all our luggage with us. So we paid SCR200 to get to the "middle of island", our accommodation Belle des Iles. Another wonderful experience, even better than at Mahe.
Looking at map, we were not sure if it is uphill or not. Fortunately it is nearly flat part of island, with very good concrete road. The closest shop is about 600m away.
It is very close to Vevue Reserve. Just about 400m. We've passed through reserve only once. I did not have my tripod with me and I planned to return later with tripod to allow me to make HDRs. It did not happen, thus I don't have any good photos from it. Following photos are taken slightly closer and probably are not part of Reserve.
Our first trip was to La Réunion and La Passe, to find out how beaches look there. It was rather cloudy, quite late afternoon. We have found hotel La Digue Island Lodge with its beach. We settled in and nobody thrown us out. I hope it was not just because of less than ideal weather and time of day :-) Zuzka liked architecture of challets, so we returned also next day to take a few pictures. I am not promoting the place, but feel free to stay at place if you like it and have budget for it :-) I did not check how expensive it is.

Things in the sky
Whole this post was meant to show photos which don't fit into another posts I am planning to do. While previous ones cannot be considered as "assorted", following can be. Their only common denominator is the sky.
I have written recently I will show better photos of local bat. So here is one, most detailed I got. Rest of them are just normal landscape photos with small speck with bat-like silhouette.
What do you think about following photo of Milky Way? A vision of being able to take photos of Milky Way led me to bringing my tripod and borrowing heavy lens Nikon 14-24/2.8.
It is composite of 18 photos, each is 20s exposure. I took it after I lost all my hope for getting any, so I am really happy about it. Every evening in La Digue was cloudy, this was taken at about 4am after waking up and finding the sky is mostly clear. So I took my gear and "ran" to nearby location, only one I have found with prominent palm with a promise of dark sky. Fortunately it was not far away, actually it was on access road to Belle des Iles :-)
