Oriente Station
Calatrava architected train station in Lisbon. Fortunately it was done for Expo'98 so there are many more architectural things to see.
We were already tired when we came there and we wanted to see more. So we did not spend much time looking at train station. Only now, as I am looking for relevant information I have learned that Oriente Station is one of the largest stations in the world. Back then it just felt big.
Another thing I regret (as is usual for me) is lack of blue sky. What else would you expect when my sentence starts with "Another thing I regret", huh?
Surrounding buildings were not very interesting, but also there were a few interesting views. But we did not stop for long, because we wanted to visit Oceanário. I liked a lot fountains in park between station and the "fish house".
Oceanário de Lisboa
I wanted to name this section "fishy business" but then I reconsidered it. "Oceanário de Lisboa" sounds less interesting, but it is geographically correct.
I liked main "fish bowl" inside of Oceanário much more than what we have seen in Valencia*. It was huge, there were more levels and also looking into it through separate windows seems like big enhancement. Thanks to it, it did not look like ... fish bowl.* but they don't have dolphins here... which is actually good for them
So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
A few photos of fishes, other sea creatures and also some fish eaters. But no fish and chips, we are not in UK after all.
Oh boy! They have puffin here. And I don't need ultra zoom!
