Atmosphere of Carcassonne
Our exploration of Carcassonne continues. We have seen the castle, we rambled around the city (not strictly in this order). Now, it is the time to look around the new Carcassonne and how it looks like when atmospheric effects are turned on :-)
Neighbours of the castle
Carcassonne is set in very nice surroundings.
I enjoy taking photos (and zooming in) of immediate surroundings of the castles. They look very similar regardless they are in France or India (no offence, I mean they are attractive and with story to tell).
I like distant mountains. They remind me mountains from my home city.
After rain you can expect the rainbow!
When a bus from the airport approached the old city we have noticed very nice old bridge. We knew we have to go there later in the evening or in the morning.
So after our dinner in hostel we took cameras and went outside of old city heading to the bridge. It was raining, but that did not discourage us. (Somehow I am getting to be more weather tolerant). Of course all photos were dark and dull. Still we were happy with them as we returned to our accommodation. It was not more than 15 minutes when I looked out of window and to my huge surprise golden sunshine was everywhere. Regardless our tiredness we took our cameras and ran (yes, we even ran) down the hill to our previous position. We got huge moral support from beautiful double rainbow.
You can see bigger version here.
I have decided to make a crop from previous panorama and to add it here. I made also one experiment with colour management, so it might not look as good as I hope for.
Carcassone at night
We were tired before we went to bridge for the 2nd time. But somehow as we returned back we were full of energy, excited from beautiful sights we have been shown.
So instead of going directly to bed we rambled around walls and different gates.
Sun was setting, everything had beautiful strong colours. This one reminded me India again, colour-wise. The big difference was that unlike in India we felt safe at this place after sunset.
Very nice "movie" projected on the wall by the sun.
But the sun created even more interesting sights.
